A few more action shots from last weekend as we wrapped up my painting.
I'm trying to bring back clogs and high water pants. It's a good look.
Here are a few detail shots of the big painting I finished last week.
That's me with one of Pat's sick skateboards.

More soon!
This weekend I finished the thirty foot painting! A few friends helped me hoist it up outside so I could see the entire thing for the first time.
Some shots of this week's progress!
This week I have been working hard on a thirty foot painting on paper! When it is finished, this painting's dimensions will be 30 feet by about a little less than 4 feet. Below are some shots of the piece as it progresses.
The first installment, about 8 feet.
At 16 feet and counting…
The next 8 feet, an in progress shot!
Stay tuned for the final result!
This week I made two new paintings that are based loosely on Asscher cut diamonds. Unlike my paintings below, a true Asscher is a square, similar to an emerald cut.
In 1902 the Asscher Cut was the first cut to become patented by its creator, Joseph Asscher, the grandson of John Isaac Asscher, the founder of the Royal Asscher Diamond Company. The company's headquarters still stands in its original location in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
I picked up my two new bowls this week. They are fired and finished!
This summer I will be teaching two one-day workshops with the Sharon Arts Center in Manchester, New Hampshire. The course descriptions are listed below.
Crazy about Color! Manchester / Jacquelyn Gleisner
This one-day workshop investigates the rich and exciting world of color. Why was Picasso so blue? How was Matisse so rosy? The class will explore how artists have used color
o set a specific mood and tone. We will also discuss basic color theory and create a work of art inspired by a specific color theme. Students will create a custom color wheel, learn how to mix color, and create several examples of different types of color schemes to use as a reference for future work. By the end of the day, students will have a complete color toolkit they can use to enhance their art.
Prerequisite: None. Limit: 15
Sat, July 26 / 10 am – 4 pm / 1 Day / FB9
MPTN018 / Tuition: $80
Oil Painting 101

Emphasis will be placed on proper paint handling and application processses. Students will create at least one alla prima oil painting by the end of the day. The workshop will cover all the foundational elements of the most popular painting medium so students can continue painting with oil beyond this workshop. Prerequisite: None. Limit: 15

Two new paintings from this week...
Here are some detail shots of this week's paintings!
I am very excited to report that I moved into a new studio this week! Here are some shots of the new space and new work.
For Art21's "Value" Issue, I spoke with artist and community organizer Caroline Woolard about BFAMFAPhD, an open-ended project that “visualizes the number of students graduating with creative degrees, generates dialog about our collective power, and elicits proposals for organizing efforts.”
A few quick facts from the text:
Two new ceramic bowls are in the works! Here are some pictures of the bowls that I painted before they are glazed and fired again.
About a year ago, I ran a half marathon with my best friend, Jolee. Read about my impulsive New Year's Eve resolution and the wackiness that followed at the Airship Daily.
